BIOGRAPHY

Eng Keat is a litigation lawyer. Eng Keat was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya in December 2011. After his admittance to High Court of Malaya, he worked as a Foreign Legal Counsel at Messrs Khattar Wong LLP in Singapore, specialising in insurance litigation.

Prior to becoming the founding partner of GLT Law, he was a Senior Associate in Messrs Mah-Kamariyah & Philip Koh specialising in civil and commercial litigation.

  • Acted as counsel for a Malaysian company against a China company in filing an application pursuant to Section 39 of the Arbitration Act 2005 for an award obtained in China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission in Beijing involving more than USD 2 million.
  • Acted as co counsel for a Malaysian subsidiary of an international company in a dispute arising from supply of oil and gas related equipment involving more than USD 3 million.
  • Acted as co counsel for an Indonesian company in an arbitration against Malaysian company for breach of joint venture agreement involving more than RM16 million.
  • Acted as co counsel for an Indonesian company in an application filed by Malaysian company pursuant to Section 37 and 42 of the Arbitration Act 2005.
  • Acted as co counsel for a Malaysian company against an Indonesian company in a dispute arising from termination of contract involving more than RM16 million.
  • Acted as co counsel for a prominent Malaysian real estate company in a dispute arising from bulk purchase of apartments involving more than RM10 million.
  • Acted as co counsel for a Malaysian company in a dispute arising from misrepresentation of sale of shares involving more than RM23 million.
  • Acted as co counsel for a prominent Malaysian conglomerate in a dispute against liquidator relating to Section 528 Companies Act 2016.
  • Acted as co counsel for individuals relating to Section 340 National Land Code 1965.
  • Acted as co counsel for individuals relating to Section 54(3) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001.
