BIOGRAPHY

Edmond began his career in the legal industry focusing on due diligence work for fund-raising and listing exercises during the initial years of his apprenticeship and his first year of practice. This early exposure provided him with a strong legal foundation in reviewing corporate structures, identifying legal risks, and preparing detailed reports to support transactional work. His diligence and adaptability allowed him to build a solid grounding in corporate and commercial matters at the outset of his career.

He later had the opportunity to join forces with one of Malaysia’s top law firms, where he was actively involved in mergers and acquisitions as well as foreign advisory matters. Following his tenure there, Edmond was offered a role with another leading firm in the real estate and property sector, where he further honed his expertise in property development, real estate, conveyancing, and related advisory work before joining our team.

  • Assisted in the negotiation in a “white knight” intervention of the Joint Development Agreement for development of lands in the State of Terengganu in 2025.

  • Assisted with the Joint Development Agreement for a total valuation of RM502million and the Sale and Purchase Agreement of RM200million between a public listed company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia and the State Government in developing Malaysia’s largest affordable housing project in Penang in Q1 2025.

  • Represented the buy-side in the acquisition of a piece of land by an established conglomerate in the heart of Kuala Lumpur for a purchase consideration of RM125million in Q1 2025.

  • Represented the buy-side in the acquisition of four (4) pieces of land in the state of Pahang by an established conglomerate with a purchase consideration of RM65million in Q1 2025.

  • Acted as the issuer counsel in the proposed transfer of listing from the Leap Market to the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia in Q3 2024.

  • Acted as the issuer counsel in the listing of a logistics service provider company on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia in Q4 of 2023

  • Acted as the issuer counsel in the listing of an information technology and technology company on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia in Q3 2023.

  • Acted for the purchaser, a construction company listed on the Ace Market of Bursa Malaysia, in the acquisition of a solar company, in their diversification plan with shares and cash consideration.

  • Acted as counsel for multiple listed companies in fund-raising exercises throughout Q4 2022 to Q3 2023 (ie: private placement exercise, employee share option scheme).

  • Assisted in a general offering exercise in identifying the persons acting in concert of the transaction.
