BIOGRAPHY

Gabby is an Associate in the Firm’s Litigation Department.

She graduated from the University of Leicester with an LLB (Hons) and was subsequently called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.

Gabby joined the Firm as a pupil-in-chambers in 2022. Following the completion of her pupillage, she was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2023 and retained as a legal associate within the Firm.

Gabby’s principal practice is in general civil litigation, focusing on the areas of contractual disputes, corporate, and commercial disputes.

  • Acted for the largest electricity utility company in Malaysia specialising in debt recovery and tampering meter issues.
  • Acted for companies in recovering money in excess of RM800,000.00 arising from breach of contract.
  • Acted for executors in obtaining an order for sale and probate grant of legal administration in an estate matter.
  • Acted for the main contractors and subcontractors in construction disputes.
  • Assisted counsel in a shareholder oppression suit involving allegations of misconduct and unfair treatment.
  • Acted for a publicly listed company, a prominent manufacturer of paper cartons, in a legal action against individuals and companies to recover over RM2 million owed for the supply of corrugated carton boxes, while also seeking declaratory reliefs aimed at piercing the corporate veil.
  • Acting for a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest construction and real estate conglomerates in a construction dispute involving breaches of contract, claims of backcharges, and liquidated damages totaling in excess of RM21 million due to delays and contract breaches.
  • Acting for a prominent chain of massage centers in legal actions to wind up a licensed company due to management deadlock, while also seeking an injunction to prevent the removal of the company’s directors.
  • Defending company shareholders and directors in a shareholder dispute over corporate governance issues and misconduct to resist unjust claims and protect their interests.
  • Defending a former employee against claims totaling in excess of RM5 million, which include allegations of breach of confidence, breach of fiduciary duty, and damages.
